The compressor optimizes embedded images (the biggest contributor to PDF size), removes redundant and unnecessary metadata, and rebuilds the file's internal object structure more efficiently. Text, fonts and page layout are preserved — only the data that can safely shrink is touched.
Why PDFs need server-side processing
Browsers don't expose the low-level tools needed to recompress the images embedded inside a PDF or rebuild its object streams. To do this properly, your file is sent over a secure connection to our server for processing, held only in temporary storage, and automatically deleted immediately after your compressed file is returned.
